Time-Out for Body, Mind and Soul in the Val Medel in the Grisons - FULLY BOOKED
Enjoy a time-out in the homely hotel Medelina in the Grisons where body, mind and soul can come to rest and refuel again. The daily schedule includes yoga, breathing and mindfulness practice, sitting in silence and plenty of free time to explore the stunning mountain area of the valley of Medel or to simply laze around.
In the mornings, we explore our body and mind through mindfulness exercises and meditation and then revitalize ourselves in an energizing yoga practice. Afterwards a nourishing, healthy brunch with products from the region is waiting for us. During the day there is plenty of time and opportunities for walks, hikes or to enjoy a few quiet hours on the hotel terrace with its breathtaking view. We end the day with breathing exercises and cooling, deeply relaxing Yin Yoga.
This Summer time-out enables both yoga beginners and experienced yogis to take a break, to reconnect with themselves, recharge their batteries, regain strength, peace and confidence and deepen their practice. It is aimed at all who wish to experience the profound effects of a daily yoga and meditation practice and regular breathing exercises, combined with a healthy diet and lots of relaxation.
All classes will be taught in German, alternating between Frank (Yoga classes) and Tanja (meditation, mindfulness, and breath work). Both teachers are fluent in English and German, in case of Q&A in between the classes.
Frank Schmid and Tanja Forcellini will lead this Yoga- und Mindfulness Retreat from Monday afternoon, July 20, through Friday noon, July 24, 2020 at the Hotel Medelina in the Val Medel in the Grisons. The official regulations and protection measures regarding COVID-19 apply.
Tanja Forcellini discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga during one of her journeys to the Far East in 1999. Yoga has led her to find answers to the many questions she has encountered on her personal life journey - answers that lay hidden deep within herself. Tanja attended the Yoga Teacher Training in 2004 at Centered Yoga in Asia, where she received certification as a Yoga instructor recognized by the Yoga Alliance. After her pregnancy in 2008, she also attended the Perinatal Yoga Training at Birthlight UK. After that time, life guided her more and more towards silence, and silence moved her from Yoga to Meditation.
The loving and conscious contact with, and careful perception of, one's own body are the focus of Tanja's classes, as well as the connection of breath and movement. Since 2017, Tanja has been attending continuing education courses on mindfulness meditation and resilience building. In addition, she completed the Hormone Balance Teacher Training with Salome Noah. To deepen her own practice on the mat, Tanja regularly attends retreats and trainings with internationally recognized teachers. Her spiritual practice is deepened through the challenges of everyday life and especially through stays in an ashram in northern India.

Frank Schmid started growing in the Swiss Alps, then Zurich, New York and San Francisco. He lived in Vancouver, Canada, for 10 years. He received his Hatha Yoga teacher training from Ifat Erez in Canada and at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India and he studied Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley.
Frank’s daily practice reflects in his classes which he leads with a strong sense for detail, individual safety and fun. For those who take his classes, it is a quiet lesson in self-exploration, opening up body and soul to accept and work through the practice, which at times mirrors the challenges of life.
Idyllic and close to nature, with breathtaking views of the mountains and valley, the hotel Medelina is located in the village of Curaglia with 250 inhabitants, situated in the Val Medel, between Disentis and the Lukmanier Pass. The house has been renovated in 2016 with great attention to detail and reopened in January 2017. The in-house restaurant, the café with a view of the valley, as well as the beautifully furnished library or the hotel terrace invite you to laze around and relax.
In addition to brunch and dinner, our group is offered a daily snack, either served at the hotel or taken along on a hike.
For our group, the kitchen staff of the Medelina offers Vegetarian food, if possible regional and seasonal. Much of what they serve is homemade and the staff knows a story to many of the dishes.

Up to 10 participants can be accommodated in double or single rooms, all with private shower and toilet. Each room is dedicated to a different nature theme, a local craft or a cultural characteristic of the Val Medel.
With 10 participants plus 2 teachers, the safety measures regarding the distance regulation can be guaranteed in the group room.
In case the rooms at the hotel Medelina are fully booked, more double and single rooms are available to our group at the hotel Vallatscha, also in the village of Curaglia. The same prices and conditions apply as in the hotel Medelina. All meals are served to the group at the Medelina.

7:45 to 9:45 am: Dynamic Yoga

Travel / Check-in and Check-out
The hotel Medelina is located in the mountain village of Curaglia, about 6 km after the village of Disentis. The house can be easily reached by public transport as well as by car. Outdoor parking spaces are available free of charge. Participants arriving by public transport will travel through one of the natural spectacles of the Alps, the Rhine Gorge.
Participants should aim to check in at Medelina on Monday, July 20, 2020, in between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. We are unable to receive guests before that time, so please organize travel arrangements accordingly. There will be a first class and a meet & greet at 5:00 pm, followed by an opening dinner.
On Friday, July 24, 2020 the departure is after brunch. The bus to Disentis leaves Curaglia at 11:13 am. There is a direct connecting train through the Rhine Gorge to Chur.

If one/both teachers is/are unable to lead the retreat due to unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to replace the teacher/s with equivalent one(s).

AIRYOGA/yogatanja and the teachers shall not be held liable for any damage to, or loss of, property or injury to persons. The participant waives any claim against the facilitator/the teacher for any such loss, damage, injury, or death.
