Yin & Yang Yoga with Stefania Maria Bernet in the Valley of Toggenburg

Yin Yang Yoga is the union or balancing of opposing forces, the stillness beyond contrasts.

In our daily life, we are often confronted with extreme contrasts. And sometimes it can be a real balancing act to reconcile all the desires and obligations that worldly life brings with it: job, family, social contacts, cherished leisure activities.... Maybe you can relate with this: You come out of a yoga class, everything seems easy and peaceful, and back home your screaming child or the emergency email storm from your boss awaits you ....

In this 4-day retreat, we aim to build bridges and unite opposites (the term yoga can be translated as union).
Step by step, we will learn to integrate the mindfulness we cultivate through a regular practice of asana, pranayama and meditation into everyday life. We will practice to recognize life itself as our teacher and in the midst of worldly temptations and disruption, to maintain the unshakable calm in our hearts - the gift of equanimity.

“The enlightened sage abides, as the eternal witness, wholly unconcerned, yet intimately engaged, resting beyond all definitions, neither clinging to transcendent freedom, nor entangled by the dualistic world therefore, one with all life.”
Adyashanti

To participate in this retreat, basic knowledge of yoga is recommended. Stefania will teach in German and/orEnglish, depending on the requirements of the group.

The Yin & Yang Yoga Retreat will be offered from Thursday afternoon, September 16, through Sunday noon, September 19, 2021 at the Karunahaus in Unterwasser in the valley of Toggenburg, Switzerland.

The Teacher
Stefania Maria Bernet came into contact with meditation and pranayama already in her childhood, thanks to her first teacher Selvarajan Yesudian. She cultivates a regular, disciplined Asana practice for more than 10 years.
Stefania completed her first yoga teacher training at Bikram Yoga College of India. Guided by an open heart and a curious mind she studied to become a Medical Yoga Coach at the German Medical School in Berlin, and attended numerous immersions with her long-standing Hatha Yoga teachers Stephen Thomas and Noah McKenna. She also completed a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Carol Murphy and further education in Pranayama and meditation with Shri O.P. Tiwari in the Kaivalyadhama lineage.
Stefania teaches mainly in Europe as well as America and Asia. She loves the various practices that guide people back to body, breath and heart. In her teaching, she values healthy alignment of the body, as well as a heartfelt and kind inner attitude.
Stefania is also a professional Actress and Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner.
