Yoga & Safari in the Heart of India - Only 1 Spot left!
In this 11-day retreat we will spend most of the time in nature. Silently we will stroll through the fields and witness the sunrise. Afterwards we will unroll the mats in the shala or the open outdoor circle platform overlooking the quiet river, where the Indian children play, the buffaloes come to drink water and the tribal women wash their clothes. While we practice, very likely we may see monkeys jumping around in the trees, and the birds singing will be our background music. In midst of these authentic Indian colors, smells and sounds our yoga - including Asana, Pranayama, Meditation and Chanting - will unfold.
The afternoons invite us to use the free time to rest, to join the optional guided excursions or to enjoy an additional yoga practice. In the evenings, we will be sitting around the campfire under the stary sky, enjoying tasty Indian food and listening to the stories and lectures of our safari guides and hosts.Through their authentic sharing we will be learning lots about the culture and the rural Indian lifestyle. The very attentive and caring lodge team adds to a unique and positive retreat experience.
Other highligths are two half day safaris in the 2000 square km Kanha National Park, which is well known for it’s tigers. We will observe the beauty of Kanha’s landscapes, rare birds, and with some luck even a lepard or tiger.Well trained and experienced naturalists will guide us. A third, optional safari can bo booked on extra cost.
In this retreat, you will get to know India in its most pristine form. These days away from the daily buzz will nurture your soul, clear your mind and will vibrate within you as an impressionable memory even once you are back home.
Participants in this retreat may want to consider getting to India a couple of days earlier to acclimate to time change and culture, and to maybe visit Dehli or the Taj Mahal in Agra. It addresses yogis, who are appreciating to spend time being in nature and who like to experience the rural countryside of India. 1-2 years of yoga experience is required.
The group size of maximum 8-10 participants allows for a familiar atmosphere and the adaptation of the yoga sessions to individual wishes and needs. The yoga sessions will be held in English.
Manuela Peverelli and Isabelle Karan will lead this Yoga & Safari Retreat from Wednesday, February 12, through Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Flame of the Forest Safari Lodge, Kanha National Park in Central India.
Manuela Peverelli teaches yoga since 2008. Her attitude and approach towards life is influenced by Tantric, Vedic and Buddhist studies and practices. An education in Ayurvedic psychology at the European Ayurveda Academy in 2013 has enriched her background in Western psychiatric nursery. Currently, Manuela started a 3-year education in Buddhist Psychotherapy in Germany.
Manuela’s teaching is dynamic and powerful, but at the same time a journey to the inner stillness as a refuge in this hectic and demanding world. For her, the techniques of Yoga are simply the tools to create a more harmonized home within the body and mind for recognizing the essence of the real self.
Manuela teaches in Zurich and Winterthur, Switzerland and lives in the more rural countryside, but for her own studies and practice periods she spends the Winter months mostly in Asia.
For more information about her approach, please visit her website www.karmacircus.com
Isabelle Karanis a nurse, natural health practitioner and yoga teacher since 2006.
Since 2008 she lives close to the Kanha National Park in central India. Together with her husband, she is running the small Safari Lodge Flame of the Forest.
Living in harmony with nature, far from modern civilization, has strongly influenced Isa’s life and her yoga practice. The local people, the ever changing faces of nature and the presence of wild animals became her teachers and guides. The sadhana on the mat and life off the mat are the main ingredients of her yoga classes.
Located in the buffer zone of Kanha National Park, Flame of the Forest is a dream hideaway of mystical wilderness. It was built by Karan and Isa, an Indian Swiss couple. The four cottages are spacious and designed with style, heart and soul. Each cottage offers two beds with mosquito net, an ensuite bathroom with an al fresco shower, a deck with a stunning view overlooking the river Banjar and the forest beyond. An outside bed invites to relax during the day.
The lodge is working on eco- and environmental friendly principals. The kitchen serves delicious, authentic and fresh Indian food, with organic vegetables from the garden or the local market.
