Our spine is an incredible combination of strength and flexibility - of Sthira and Sukha. Strong bones and big muscles give us structure and protect sensible nerves, while flexible tendons and ligaments allow the spine movement in all planes. With the regular practice of back bends we can protect this wonderful balance, by increasing flexibility while strengthening the structural muscles of the skeleton at the same time. Back bends allow us an opportunity for development, they awaken courage, power and optimism.

Back bends in yoga awaken and strengthen the body and the entire organism. They stretch the entire front plane of the body, such as the hip flexors, shoulders and chest, an area in which many of us carry bodily tension. In addition, they build power in the legs, arms and back muscles. The heart, both the physical heart and the energetic heart space, become broad and spacious, and we open ourselves to the world. In the back bending asanas we show ourselves, which requires courage. The heart chakra (Anahata) is stimulated, so that we can open ourselves more fully to our emotions, experiences and relationships in life. Back bends express your inner radiance. They activate valuable aspects such as enthusiasm, joy and the wisdom of the heart.
In this afternoon workshop, creative and diverse exercises and Asanas that promote the flexibility and the back bending function of the spine await you. We will warm up by mobilising the spine and incorporate all of the different directions of movement of the spine. With strenthening exercises we will stimulate the deep muscles. This precise work with the body helps you „steer“ a more powerful Asana in a secure way and to remain in the position with ease. The rhythmic sequence in Yogaflow and the wonderful stimulation of the chakras build an optimal preparation to dive in deeper. By increasing flexibility and awareness of the spine, the back bends positively influence our posture and can influence greater mobility, strength and coordination. On a deeper level, we involve the emotions as well as the entire psychic dimension of our being. I invite you to experience your power in flowing Vinyasa as well as find valuable inspiration and relaxation through Yoga Nidra.

Claudia Eva Reinig has been practicing yoga and meditation for more than 30 years. She is considered an ambassador of mindfulVinyasa Yoga. It is essential for her to follow her inward path to experience life at its fullest and to realize creative projects outwardly. Claudia lives in Switzerland in summer and for over 20 years spends the winter months in India. The varieta and contrasts in the culture and people have an inspiring and enriching influence in her life, and the many travel experiences with other cultures, religions and spiritual paths flow into her teaching. Travels and studies over many months led her to diverse Yogis and several Ashrams, where she was able to learn authentic Yoga, which she now links to contemporary developments.
Presently, Claudia leads retreats, workshops and trainings as both teacher and trainer. She is a national and international guest speaker at various congresses. She has been in the teacher training team of various schools and institutions for more than 20 years. She has produced three Yoga Nidra Cds and two Yoga Flow DVDs. Claudia is actively and financially involved in the support of various animal and environmental organizations and the organizer of the charity project „Open Sky Yoga“.
