Alena Matzke

Alena has been practicing and studying yoga and meditation for 20 years, and has been teaching continuously for the past 10 years. She graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada with a degree in Religious Studies and Medical Anthropology. After graduation she spent two years studying Buddhist philosophy and practice with Tibetan reincarnate Lama Her Eminence Khandro Rinpoche in the United States and Northern India. For Alena, yoga and meditation facilitate the direct experience of reality-as-it-is in this very moment, and with it the experience of loving acceptance of oneself and others and the possibility for transformation. Her classes are inspired by Embodied Flow™ and weave asana, pranayama and meditation into creative and accessible sequences intended to ground, open up new possibilities of embodiment, and inspire authenticity and a life that is in flow.
It has been her life-long passion to support individuals in building a sustainable yoga and/or meditation practice based on their unique needs and interests, and in evolving their personal answer to what it means to live a wholehearted life.
