Frank Schmid
Frank Schmid

I teach a calm, yet strong Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga for beginners and experienced practitioners since 2006. Aligning the body, experiencing conscious breath and paying attention are three central aspects of my classes. Change your point of view from the outside towards the inside, channel the breath and study mental and physical resistance. A sense of oneness and equilibrium arises.
Frank completed teacher trainings in Hatha Yoga with Ifat Erez in Vancouver, Kanada, at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India, and in Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley.
Frank lives near Zurich, sometimes with his two kids.
He teaches yoga classes (see below), workshops and retreats, both in German and English.

Stephen Thomas

Stephen has been a dedicated student of yoga since 1998. He has practiced, taught and lived in Asia and Europe for the past decade studying various traditions, which he incorporates into a unique yoga practice influenced and made possible by the grace and support of his central teachers.
Stephen’s background includes studies in Buddhism, Ayurveda and traditional Hatha yoga in India. In Asia, he continues an in-depth study of traditional Pranayama and Kriya through his master, O.P.Tiwari, which he combines with his love for the Asana practices that stem from his experience with Krishnamacharya’s work and influence on the Ashtanga Vinyasa and Iyengar systems of yoga. He also brings in elements of the Chinese and Tibetan systems where appropriate.
Stephen is an avid reader and student of Eastern philosophies and a lifelong lover of the arts and music. His ability to re-frame various viewpoints and to simplify things without sacrificing depth and integrity has helped him develop a unique, non-dogmatic but deeply rooted teaching style. His works spans Meditation, Pranayama, Asana and the commitment to seeing the practice off the mat. He uses these methods as tools for health and wellbeing and to support the spiritual pursuit of living life courageously and compassionately from one’s heart.
Stephen teaches classes and workshops at AIRYOGA in Zurich, as well as spending a part of each year traveling as a guest instructor and teaching retreats throughout the world. He also dedicates energy each year to directing Teacher Intensive Trainings and ongoing education and works one-on-one with many students and teachers in his community. Stephen teaches in English.

Gisela Collazo
Gisela Collazo

Since her first encounter with Yoga in 1995, Gisela has practiced and studied with many amazing and gifted teachers. She has delved into Kundalini Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga Vinyasa in Mysore, Anusara, Classical Hatha Yoga and Birthlight Pre + Postnatal and Well Woman Yoga. She has completed over 500-hours Yoga Alliance accredited training and many further education courses. She is a Training Tutor for Birthlight and leads international trainings in Perinatal Yoga.
Gisela has been teaching since 2004. By guiding her students through the physical form and focusing on the breath, she invites them to make their own inner explorations and discover the qualities of joy and gratitude that lie within themselves. Students appreciate her calm and positive manner, her precise and detailed instructions, and the mix of power and restoration that they take away from her classes.
Gisela's work in Birthlight Yoga has enriched her practice and teaching immensely. By freeing up the rigid physical form of asana to tune into the body's rhythms and seasons, we develop a deep awareness and confidence in our own intuitive wisdom. We promote trust, faith and acceptance for what is, and make space for what is to come. We foster self-nurture and gentleness towards ourselves, which we can then spread to those around us.
Gisela teaches her classes in English. For more information visit her website www.yogaprema.ch

Alena Matzke

Alena has been practicing and studying yoga and meditation for 20 years, and has been teaching continuously for the past 10 years. She graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada with a degree in Religious Studies and Medical Anthropology. After graduation she spent two years studying Buddhist philosophy and practice with Tibetan reincarnate Lama Her Eminence Khandro Rinpoche in the United States and Northern India. Alena trained in Hatha Yoga and received her advanced teaching certification in Embodied Flow™. She has assisted her teachers Tara Judelle and Scott Lyons, Emily Kuser and Marc Holzman on 200h and 300h yoga teacher trainings. She completed pre-medical training, has spent 8 years working in global health policy, and is pursuing her dream of becoming a holistic medical doctor.
For Alena, yoga and meditation facilitate the direct experience of reality-as-it-is in this very moment, and with it the experience of loving acceptance of oneself and others and the possibility for transformation. Her classes are inspired by Embodied Flow™ and weave asana, pranayama and meditation into creative and accessible sequences intended to ground, open up new possibilities of embodiment, and inspire authenticity and a life that is in flow.
It has been her life-long passion to support individuals in building a sustainable yoga and/or meditation practice based on their unique needs and interests, and in evolving their personal answer to what it means to live a wholehearted life.

Claudia Garati
Claudia Garati

Claudia grew up in Switzerland. She started practicing Hatha Yoga in 2000. After moving to New York in 2005, she enrolled in YogaWorks certified 500-hour Teacher Training program and completed it as a certified Yoga Alliance instructor (current level: E-RYT500® and YACEP®) in 2006. Claudia further studied in New York and San Francisco (2005-2008) with ISHTA Yoga founder Alan Finger, Mark Whitwell, Bridget Shields, and with Restorative Senior Teacher Sara Tirner. From 2016 to 2019, during her time in Asia she also delved into Universal Yoga with Copper Crow/Andrey Lappa, Yoga Nidra and trained with the queen of handstand Marysia Do which complemented her yoga. After 3 years in Singapore Claudia moved back to Switzerland in 2019 again. To her, yoga means both statics and dynamics, which are energetically in balance. In her classes she focuses on proper, individual alignment to guarantee both safety and freedom. Her aim as a teacher is to allow the students to find their breath and consequently become present in each asana and in the moment, i.e. bringing the benefits of yoga off the mat and into today’s life. Claudia teaches in German and English.
